Stephen Lytle Announces 2019 Campaign for Tampa City Council – District 3, Citywide

Stephen, with his wife Adrienne, at the Supervisor of Elections office. Stephen filed his campaign for Tampa City Council District 3 on 8/31/18.

Over the last year I have been highly encouraged by friends, family, and community leaders to formally serve the City of Tampa by entering the 2019 City Council race. After a lot of consideration and thought I am now prepared to accept that challenge and run for the District 3, Citywide seat and with your support we can move Tampa forward together.

For many years I have been working for you by understanding the needs of our residents and organizing grassroots efforts to improve communities. In turn, these experiences have allowed me to spend countless hours listening to your concerns as neighbors and business leaders about the current state of our city and the challenges we face as we continue to grow and solidify our reputation as one of the nation’s top places to live. I agree with many of you that we are all blessed to call Tampa home, but there is still work to be done and I am ready to work for you.

The decision to run for City Council is one I have not taken lightly and I am confident that my experiences with neighborhoods and city government have grown my skills as a leader, communicator, and advocate for residents and businesses. As President of the South Seminole Heights Civic Association I have worked to improve city services, safety, and civic engagement in our neighborhood. Similarly, I have spent the last 3 years representing you as Chair of the City of Tampa Budget Advisory Committee; a unique opportunity which has given me unprecedented knowledge about our cities one billion dollar budget and the future financial challenges before us.

The one thing I have heard consistently is that you believe we have a bright future ahead of us as long as we elect the right leadership to move Tampa forward. I am ready to take that challenge on and have identified three areas of focus that will impact you and every other resident in the city:

  1. Sound Fiscal Policy
  2. Improved Infrastructure
  3. Empowered Neighborhoods

These issues are vitally important to our future success and I will knock on as many doors as possible to discuss these issues with you personally, hear your concerns, and learn how I can help each of you. Together we can achieve more than any single person could ever do alone and that is why I need your help to make this campaign a success by volunteering your time and/or making a financial contribution to our efforts.  I am inviting you to join me today and let’s move Tampa forward, together!
